XP Adventis or Garrett AT Pro.....Help !!

Hi Peeps.  Both these in my budget.  Man at Regton advised the AT Pro but Adventis looks simpler to understand and I see that XP have a great reputation right now.

What should I do people ??

Bedfordshire so inland farms and fields once I finally choose my first machine.  I want something I can grow with, not a starter that I will want to upgrade in 5 minutes (possibly) and Adventis and AT Pro seem to stand out in my price range.  I'm doing lots of research !

see I thought the opposite, wanting to upgrade my 20yr old c=scope, and after checking them all, thought the garrett would be better and simpler

Interesting. lots of buttons on AT Pro.  I have read many reports of issues with faults on AT Pro which is a worry?

Perhaps save a little more money and look for a used XP Goldmaxxor Deus Ws4

Better to get a quality used machine than a new basic model.

When you upgrade, you will also get most of your original money back for the next machine

at pro is a great detector and easy to use. I had one, moved to the deus, my mate still has his and does VERY,VERY well with it.
waterproof,light, and loves the small stuff, good iron rejection and the depth is ok to, sometimes wish I had kept mine.garretts best detector in my view. had the adventis few years back, good detector but I would rather have the garrett.

On earlier units there were a few issues, later units are perfectly OK.

Thanks everyone.  I can see the argument for a second hand high end model, and it's the only way I could afford Goldmaxx or Deus.

I must admit XP machines seem to have such a great reputation right now, but then again AT Pro seems to have a lot of whistles and bells for under 600

Best of luck whatever you choose, there are so many choices out there, perhaps attend a local dig and talk with fellow detectorists.
