Yes nigel i had one of those detectors from ml beach with the wooden coil and tranny radio but couldnt  remember what it was called

That's the one ! no name but may have been Groundhog (before Garrett used the name)

I will be bringing a few choice 'oldies' to the XP rally in September, it will be a little different this rally, at one point I was going to dig out some tie dyed jeans, huge collared shirt, stick on moustache & 6" wedge shoes & demonstrate older machines being used, then I woke up. ;)
