C-SCOPE vlf.tr 1200 any good

is the c-scope vlf.tr 1200 any good? i can buy one for £50 locally. i know its very old but i hear c-scope is a great brand... it will mainly be used by a child but still want one thats half decent ideally lol.

Too old for C-S to service if it goes wrong, too complex, too heavy & too big for an 8yr old.
