New Minelab machine
« on: August 26, 2022, 08:25 am »
Pictures are filtering through of a new Minelab detector. From the pictures, the coil lugs look to be thicker.
We wait and see what is new with this model. !!

I'm led to believe it's a replacement for the CTX with a price tag of around £2,000.  :-X

Hope the launch tomorrow answers all the questions and isn’t just another teaser!

Nox II perhaps ?

Looks like it. The Equinox is very good, but pretty basic in terms of available settings and VDI. I sold mine, but would definitely be interested in a "Super Nox". If it's going to be a couple of grand though, I'll want to see exactly what if offers first.

It’s $1599 so around £1200-1300 (not rumour - that’s the Minelab official response)

They are saying it’s much more powerful than the CTX - 50% more power than any of their other machines. Submersible to 5m. Lighter than the Equinox and with all new innards. Coils are new too with redesigned lugs (v Equinox) and all new arm cup and locking stem mechanism. Carbon fibre shaft. Redesigned screen layout with enhanced info.

Availability tbc but weeks rather than months allegedly.

I’m not a Minelab fan but it does look good!

$ always ends up the same in £, so probably £1600 then. I still want to see what it will offer, but maybe! ;D

LP say they've been told £1799, but it hasn't been confirmed.

Why does it come with. “ A bag of spare parts “ are they expecting the new shaft lugs to give way ?

It's quite a clever re-design actually. If the lugs break now, you just need a replacement lower stem section. It's one of those "why did nobody think of that before" things.

Minelab specs on the Manlove say 9hr battery life with 7 hr recharge time, think the 50% increase in power over other machines means it uses 50% more power ;)
