Title: CONVERTED TO 4 TONES
Post by: bigcoil on February 05, 2018, 08:38 pm
Having heard all the chit chat about using less discrim recently I have been fiddlng about about with my settings and seem to have found the perfect solution (for myself i hasten to say). Problem is am i right in thinking that in 3 tone the lowest tone is determined directly from what ever discrimination I select?
If this is the case and i want to use 6.4 disrim but still have a low tone for everything up to 30 have I done this right ? see below.... It seemed to work great at the weekend with plenty of hammered coins on a very deep site I have..... Not adverse to constructive criticism some feel free to tell me if this is a mistake.....
4 tones
tone 1 202hz 0-6.4 discrim
tone 2 202hz6.5-30 discrim
tone 3  630  31-52
tone 4   725 53+
so now using this 4 tone  as a 3 tone program hopefully , i am not loosing to much info ?

Correct if you set the top bar to -6.4 you have eliminated the discrimination.
Tone 2 (202) -6.4 to 30 is your first tone break from the iron tone to your second tone.

Lol, tried starting at -6.5 at the weekend on a quiet site but gave up after 20 mins and knocked the discrim upto 0,
