Hey peeps
As a newbie I thought it would be fun to know what rocked your world before the year 2000.
It could be that machine that gave you the find of your life or just a superstar of yesteryear.
Pictures from the vaults would be great, but just a description if you don't have any.
So come on gang, what was top of the pops thru 70s 80s 90s 8)

For me it had to be the Spectrum XLT, found me loads both on land and on the beach.
I hope Gary doesn't mind me using one of his images

I wasn't actually detecting last century but I've used a couple of machines that were made back then.
One was a tesoro golden sabre plus, great little machine on iron invested ground, not very deep but great fun to use.
The other was a White's beach Comber which I picked up in a junk shop for a tenner! I didn't actually use that one, I cleaned it up and stuck it on eBay and got 40 quid for it!

I will be bringing a few choice 'oldies' to the XP rally in September, it will be a little different this rally, at one point I was going to dig out some tie dyed jeans, huge collared shirt, stick on moustache & 6" wedge shoes & demonstrate older machines being used, then I woke up. ;)
