Hi Lads, I'll be in London next week with the family for a well needed holiday, staying in Earls Court, can anyone tell me if there are any detecting shops I can get to on the Tube? All I can see online is Joan Allen who are way too far out?

There's nothing in the London area. The British Museum is worth a day out.

ohh well...Thanks Gary, yes the BM is fantastic, will spend a day there again this time as well.

Even more exciting - you could get the tube to London airport , fly to Birmingham , visit Nigel at Regtons and fly back with your shiny new detector - all within 4 hours while the wife is shopping in Oxford street :D :D

As said the British museum is worth a visit, there's a hoard display on at the moment ....

Also you can do some eyes only searching on the Thames foreshore , message this group and there suggest where to go, hazards etc.

If you want to get out of London , a couple of trains (just over a hour)Victoria --Bromley South--Eynsford will get you to Eynsford in Kent, there's a Roman villa here, a nice village good pubs serving decent food by the river.

As for shops Biggin Hill (Joan Allen) is the closest , not doable by train and if your not use to London traffic ??? dont bother ...
