I have just received a small pair of hearing aids and its changed my world.
After 84+ years I did not realise how my hearing had fallen short of what is required when out detecting. >:(
The new micro hearing aids arrived yesterday after only a 6 weeks wait.
At home using the test bed I was able to drop the full WS5 headset to only number 2.
Today out in the fields its a whole new ball game.
I could hear the coil passing though the grass and tiny whispers that over the years I must have missed without knowing it.
These problems creep up on us as the years pass bye without realising what is going on.
Yesterday I could also hear the leaves rustling in the larger trees with the evening breeze.
I would suggest that older folks take my experience on board while the NHS is still there to help us.
Happy Hunting,
Jerry. ;) :)

Good for you Jerry. I had blocked ears recently and I waited weeks to get them cleaned. The difference when I got the hearing back made me appreciate my hearing.
Look forward to seeing pictures of all those finds that have been waiting for you to hear them ;D

That worries me Jerry because you are one of the forums top finders, we don't stand a chance now you have better hearing.

Top tip Jerry and all. Do not allow any headphones to cover your ears completely. It creates higher than normal temperatures and encouages bacteria to breed leading to ear infections.
If you have a loop on your hearing aid use it with a ws4 and horseshoe adaptor and an inductive neckloop. This will eleminate all outside sound and give you the 100% use of the deus.

Good for you Jerry. The problem now is that you may be digging so many more signals that you will also need a pair of those titanium knee replacements. ;)
