Nowadays what is the metal detector for greater depth ?

Difficult to answer that.
There are so many settings and machine/coil combos that have good reputations and happy owners.
I've seen video evidence that shows the Anfibio has very good depth, but owners of other machines say the same. I think most of the top end machines are all strong on depth and separation.

I agree with Keith. Lots of variables needed to answer that. But in general, whoever has the machine with the biggest coil will get the most raw depth. "Raw" being the key word. However, in many situations, a machine with a very small coil will find deeper targets than a machine with a big coil. But in clean ground and big targets, the machine with the big coil will be deepest.

I really wish there was a simple answer to the depth question but there's not.
In many cases people set their machines up to go deep but then complain they are noisy.

Minelab CTX with the 17 inch coil out performs most standard detectors on the market IMHO

Ditto!! Everyone complains about chatter when they run it for depth.
That is all makes, models, and coil combo's.
I can say that me Deus with a 11" LF coil has no problem getting 10-12".
That also depends on the soil conditions too. Target size, and conductivity also
will play into how deep you can beep!

I don't know why people always want to dig deep ! Digging a foot deep or deeper on every signal would be very tiring on a full days detecting, plus your finds rate would drop off as you spend 15 minutes plus digging and replacing a foot deep hole just to find a bit of lead or rusty iron, give me separation, recovery, sensitivity and good ground balance any day over depth, or the kind of depth people always seem to want ! Can you imagine the mess you will make digging a 20" hole on pasture just for a ring pull or bit of rusty, ok there will be the odd find worth the time and effort of digging 2 foot but not enough for me to waste time and energy, but each to their own, if your happy to and fit enough then crack on lol

Pulse induction will get you depth but you must like digging iron.

Metal detecting is 70% research of site location and 20% luck in getting the permission and
10% luck of being over the target. ;)
Most all of the great finds my son and I have made have been less then 5" to 6" deep.

The only time ive found depth an important factor is when searching a beach,in this situation more depth can equal more finds.Inland,depth really isn't that important as most finds are found close to the surface within the first six inches.....you do obviously get deeper objects but fewer and further between.
Also,some detectorists tend to wildley exaggerate depth claims......we all want a few more inches don't we.
