Hi all. I was wondering whether you might be able to help me identify a large lump of metal found on a wooded hillside Nr. Honiton (Devon). At first glance it looks like the bottom half of a shell - i.e it has a pin hole in the bottom. However it's extremely heavy and thick cast (~10kg) the slit in the side looks like someone has cut into it and wasn't a feature of the original cast/shape. I have attached some photo's- can anyone shed some light?
Thanks, Rob. North Devon

You could do with using a flash and brightening the object up a bit,as its very shadowy.

My guess is from what I see ,I don`t think its off anything projectile or explosive.
