Title: How do you make a Crotal Bell shiny again ?
Post by: Keith67 on December 09, 2020, 08:46 pm
I know someone who put one on his keys and over time it went back to smooth and shiny, but when I tried this it seemed to be knocking lumps out of the test bell.  Does anyone know the best way to make those dark old crotal bells metallic and shiny again?  (That's if you want to of course)

Brasso or Autosol metal polish and plenty of elbow grease will do the trick.

Baking soda and lemon juice make a  thick paste.
Work on with a toothbrush .
Leave on for 30 min.
Rinse Dry
Then polish with brasso or olive oil ..

Thanks chaps.  I think I'll leave Lodge's suggestion as the last resort  ;D
