Sifter Program Strikes Gold Again

Hi all Been out for a couple of hours today on a new permission found lots of bits (lead copper bullets etc). and THIS any ideas??

Anglo-Saxon gold Thrymsa ... I believe ....
Stunning coin!

Take another pic,Sharpen the lower image and turn 180 degrees, it's a helmeted bust looking Right....

i'll have to sort out my macro lens for my camera. i'm using my iPhone at the moment for photos can't get much better for now sorry

I have always praised Sifter since Gary gave it to us to use.

Its served me well and still does.

Did you get a ID on this coin? if not Email, Martin Allen mra25@cam.ac.uk with some photos and a ID request  , I am sure he will be able to help...
It's either a Anglo-Saxon thrymsa or a continental Merovingian tremisses .....

Have a look at Xp Skill's School videos on YouTube or Xp website, one with Gary showing you how to put Sifter programme in.

Hi Melv,
Your coin is a Merovingian tremissis, but I have been unable to identify it from the works of reference on Merovingian coins. This is not unusual as there are thousands of different varieties of Merovingan tremissis, many of which have never be fully identified.
I shall take advice on this from an expert on Merovingian coinage.
