Notes when looking for headphones to suit todays detectors
We have noticed some after market hand built headphones can distort the machines audio tone. They sound fine in air when waving targets across the coil but when confronted with "real" in the field detecting.... iron identification and comfort can be a problem.

 Try your current metal detector headphones at home on a stereo, the music will sound loud with no finesse....perfect sound quality is what's required these days especially for tone ID and Digital metal detectors......Remember quality not loudness.

USING OADS HEADPHONES tips
Headphones slipping off your head
If your OADS headphones keep slipping off your head, you may simply have them the wrong way around
. ENSURE THE POD WITH THE LEAD IS ON YOUR LEFT EAR.

How to set up OADS headphones for use with your metal detector
You will need a spring "c" clip (keyring type") And 1 x Zip tie

The idea of this set up is to keep the excess lead inside your shirt or coat only allowing a desired length between your belt loop and detector to be exposed.

1. place your headphones on your head and plug them into your detector.

2. Stand in you usual search position and make a note where the lead will be fixed to your belt buckle, then attach the c clip using a zip tie allowing a slight friction as you may wish to adjust this in the field.(See Pic)

If you lay your machine down to dig simply allow more lead from the clip to the machine.

Leave enough lead from your belt to the detector
Keep excess lead indide your pocket Belt mount for oads headphones
Some machines will require the lead entering the jack plug to have a reverse on it, you can do this by simply reversing the wire parallel to the plug and attaching the other zip tie, this will also act as a very effective strain relief. (See pic)
